BF Guns & Gear Tactical Rifle
BF Guns & Gear's Tactical Rifle is a practical, range-based course designed to build a solid foundation in rifle marksmanship, safe firearm handling, and efficient rifle operation.
This course is appropriate for newer rifle shooters as well as experienced shooters who want to strengthen their fundamentals. Students will receive hands-on instruction and coaching while working through a structured progression of drills focused on accuracy, consistency, and confident rifle handling.
The goal of Tactical Rifle is simple: build good habits, eliminate unnecessary movement, and develop repeatable skills that hold up as the shooter is challenged.
Course Topics
Students will work on:

Rifle setup and proper sling use

Loading and unloading procedures

Ready positions and rifle presentation

Shooting stance and rifle control

Sight alignment and sight picture

Trigger control and follow-through

Zeroing and confirming zero

Understanding sight/bore offset

Marksmanship at varying distances

Standing, kneeling, and supported shooting positions

Magazine changes

Basic malfunction clearing

Target transitions

Accuracy and shot accountability

Introduction to timed drills and performance standards
Throughout the course, students will receive individual coaching and opportunities to identify weaknesses, make corrections, and immediately apply those corrections on the range.
Prerequisites
No advanced rifle training is required.
Students should have a basic understanding of firearm safety and be capable of safely handling and operating their rifle. Shooters with limited rifle experience are welcome.

Required Equipment
Students will need:

Reliable rifle or carbine

Approximately 200-250 rounds of rifle ammunition

Approximately 50-100 rounds of handgun ammunition

Minimum of 3 magazines

Two-point or single-point rifle sling

Appropriate method of carrying spare magazines

Eye protection

Hearing protection

Closed-toe footwear

Weather-appropriate clothing

Water and snacks

Notebook and pen
Optics and iron sights are both acceptable.
Course Standard
Tactical Rifle isn't about burning through ammunition or seeing who can shoot the fastest.
Students will be expected to demonstrate safe firearm handling, consistent marksmanship, proper rifle manipulation, and accountability for every round fired.
As students demonstrate proficiency, drills will become progressively more challenging. Speed will be introduced where appropriate, but never at the expense of safety or accuracy.
